HansemEUG signs MOU in support of Ajou University Industry-Academy Cooperation Project

Companies that are successful by maximizing profit often find it enormously difficult to evolve into socially respected enterprises. The reality is that it’s difficult for companies to win respect in natural ways and give back to society while doing their best to maintain a healthy profit. Faced with such a reality, HansemEUG has been asking itself about true values and social responsibilities from the beginning and has pursued the answer practically.

On July 26th of 2016, HansemEUG signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to provide support to Ajou University’s “Value Creation through Industry-Academy Cooperation” project. The President of HansemEUG, Kim Yangsook, Professor Gang Jihae of Ajou University English department, and the Vice President of Ajou University, Choi Kyung-hee, were all present for the signings of 4 MOUs.

Choi Kyung-hee presents the signed MOU to Kim Yangsook, saying
“Thank you for taking part in this significant project that is meaningful for both society and the university.”

This MOU is one of the core tasks for developing universities to spearhead the LINC initiative (LINC, Leaders in INdustry-university Cooperation) started by Korea’s Ministry of Education. The aims of the initiative include: Mutual transfer of technologies, joint R&D, boosting corporate profits, and training human resources tailored to needs of industries and enterprises in a bid to create value.

This MOU also aids in HansemEUG’s constant goals of boosting the professionalism, values, and social status of talents in the technical communication (TC) industry. As a part of HansemEUG’s efforts, President Kim Yangsook, served as the chairperson of Korea Technical Communication Association (KTCA) for 3 years for vitalization of the TC industry in Korea. With this MOU as the starting point, HansemEUG plans to work on programs to deliver TC industry information and resources to students approaching graduation as well as to create jobs with professionalism.
