HansemEUG Named as Asia’s 9th Largest Language Services Provider

"Independent market research firm Common Sense Advisory recognizes HansemEUG as a leader in $40.27 billion global industry"

HansemEUG announced today its official ranking as one of the largest language services providers (LSPs) in the translation industry. Issued in July 2016 by the Common Sense Advisory (CSA), the report, "The Language Services Market: 2016," ranked HansemEUG as one of the top-grossing LSPs in the 40.27 billion-dollar global market. HansemEUG was named the 9th largest localization vendor in Asia and 66th in the world.

CSA, which has published market size estimates and global rankings for the past 11 years, found that the demand for language services continues and is growing at an annual rate of 5.52%. As part of the study, the firm surveyed LSPs to collect actual reported revenue for 2014, 2015, and expected revenue for 2016.

Last year, the top 10 Asian LSP list was comprised of 3 Japanese, 5 Chinese, 1 Korean, 1 Singaporean, and 1 Taiwanese company. This year, the list features 3 Japanese, 5 Chinese, 1 Korean, and 1 Singaporean company. Honyaku Center Inc., in Japan, and Pactera Technology International Ltd., in China, kept their positions as Asia’s 1st and 2nd largest LSPs while other LSPs changed rankings without the appearance of a new player. Chinese and Japanese LSP’s are doing well on the list due to their strong IT/SW and manufacturing industries and large market sizes. Among the top 10 Asian companies, HansemEUG ranked 9th in both 2015 and 2016 and is the only Korean company to make the list.

The big multilingual language vendors could secure their position at the top of the list as more clients in need of multilingual localization services become interested working exclusively with well-established LSPs, as dealing with multiple smaller vendors usually requires more management resources and processes. Plus, the big players are usually able to provide comprehensive and customized localization services that fulfill their requirements.

As organizations, both large and small, address more languages, CSA Research predicts that the language services industry will continue to grow and that the market will increase to US$45 billion by 2020. Factors driving this projection include continued growth in global mobile services and ecommerce; the Internet of things (IOT); and legislation requiring access to language services for immigrants, refugees, court systems, and public safety.

“Demand continues because the market for outsourced language services and supporting technology is immensely important to the businesses, government agencies, non-profits, and individuals that produce or consume information,” adds Donald DePalma, from CSA.
